Louis van Gaal is a gift for City fans. He can't work with ego's. Look at Van Persie and Di Maria. Same at Barcelona with Rivaldo. He want to recreate his Ajax with young players but that won't work this day and age because football is much more physical now.

Does £51m for De Bruyne look like an overpayment now?
My United-supporting friends have been quite smug lately at City paying £51m "for a bench-warmer" (which he obviously won't be). But with reports that Martial could cost almost as much with add-ons and such, and is far less proven, has the blue half of Manchester got the better deal?
