Joke club.
They're like the wealthy landowner who used to have the big country mansion full of art and antiques with Butlers and maids with Rolls Royces and Bentleys on the huge gravel drive, horses in the stables ready to run in the Derby, hundreds of acres of land and the envy of all and sundry.

Now the mansion is dilapidated, the horses are now nags, the paintings and antiques have nosedived in value, the staff are now from immigrant job agencies, the Rolls and Bentleys are now Mondeos and smart cars and the land overgrown and swamplike..

But the landowner still thinks he's top dog. :)

He'll probably also have a clause in his contract that nobody gets paid more than him. If the scum do manage to sign an aging galactico he'll most likely get a pay rise ...

Seeing the rags slowly turn on him as his star fades at the same rate he puts on weight is very satisfying.

It would be too beautiful if the twats lose 2-0 on Wed. Too much to hope for, unfortunately.

No Pam, keep em in it. Let them have the misery of getting twatted by 2 decent teams, then scrape a win against a Pot 4 minnow and qualify (just) for the Europa. Let their paper thin squad struggle through the extra games they didn't have last season. Let Rooney miss half the season through a pulled hair extension and Basti give up after Christmas ("vot, you have not a vinter break?"). Let Memphis Belle get found out an a European stage. Let Smalling & Jones get arse-rimmed by some Eastern European no-hopers on a cold Thursday night in the mid-winter Baltics. Watch the beautiful meltdown in Turtles post-match pressers as the screws get looser.

Keep em in it, fuck Club Brugge, its the hope that'll kill these Rag twats this season..

You forget that the draw is rigged so they'll have a Europa League standard group anyway! Would much prefer them knocked out, failing to score so the pressure gets even bigger. This is the only shame to the window remaining open for this long, they'll have time to address the clear weakness in their attack. I just can't see who they can get that will take them to the level they desire. Charlie Austin's about the only player they may be able to sign. There's a clear shortage of top strikers in Europe at the moment and most are happy and tied up at other clubs. We did well to get Bony in.

Irvine Welsh would be proud of that post, I salute you sir.

Doesn't the £75m a year from Adidas depend on them getting through against Brugge? Or does the fact they scraped 4th place last year stop the two strikes and you're out rule coming into play?

I think the two strikes rule only applies to years when Adidas are sponsoring them anyway. My understanding is that last season, unfortunately, doesn't count.

Charlie 'fucking' Austin....

It has to be a blue and one that follows Beijing red.
