Well what a coincidence. Press reporting fans want rooney out so the BBC smooth over the cracks by saying the rags requested a testimonial for weetabix head and all proceeds going to charity.
Aw isn't that cute.

Wallpapering over the huge cracks of spending 400 million on an ordinary side, by digging up 'istry' !

Looking at their squad and ages they will need another £400m, Pig farmer, rug head, Carrick and Tom Daley are knocking on a bit now and will need replacing, the donut thief will be off at the end of the season, not to mention all the shite players they have...will the Glaziers spend big again ?

No doubt the testimonial will be live on BBC. Don't know Utd fans even bother with a subscription to their TV channel now as it seems every bloody week there is one documentary or another on about them. Giggs 4 games in charge, Cantona return, Whiskynose documentary, Rooney Documentary, class of 92, even think I saw somewhere there is another one soon on Salford City or whatever their called

Yes - last week it was Rat boy and the adulterer saving the homeless, this week Shrek and his charideee game

Cynically:
Last week, two multimillionaire property developers allowed some people to stay in an empty building that isn't being used for several months.
Yesterday, a football club graciously announced its agreement to allow a large number of people to give money to charity.

Utd website:

"At the request of Rooney himself, all monies generated from the game after expenses will be distributed to his chosen charities through the newly-created Wayne Rooney Foundation, itself a registered charity. The organisations to which the testimonial proceeds will be distributed by the Foundation include the NSPCC, Alder Hey Childrens’ Hospital, Claire House Hospice and the Manchester United Foundation."
