My mates a season ticket holder at United. He's not renewed yet. They've rung him about five times to get him to renew.

completely off topic but I just wanted to add my bit about Nobby Stiles having that street named after him. great move. the man was an absolute legend. a proper player for them and for England.

congratulations.

Quite right Bill. Manchester Boys' (under 15) team played at my school playing field and the old guy who was caretaker/groundsman and had been there for decades told me and my mates that the best player he'd ever seen for Manchester Boys was Nobby Stiles. He told us that Nobby played for Manchester Boys for 3 years which in itself must have been unprecedented. That means he was playing nationally against 15 year olds when he was 13 or possibly even 12. A gap like that makes a big difference at that age especially as Nobby was short and slightly built at the time.

I have a particular soft spot for Nobby as he scored more goals for City (2) than United (1) in derbies. His fantastic diving header to equalise at Manie Road in 1966-67 will live long in the memory.

Your mate is a lying fucker. The waiting list is about 10 years for a season ticket at the Swamp..........that's been in the papers that has!

10 years my mate has to watch them in the pub and has been for the last 15 years because of that long waiting list..

Wait while I see him and give him the good news it's only 10 more years before he can get one, he'll be well chuffed..

He's clearly lying. The media are reporting they sold out in record time. Now who am I going to believe - your season ticket holding mate or the media?

Yep, sold out in such record time that the other half's son - who put his name on the "waiting list" this season - got a text a couple of weeks back telling him he could buy one for next season!

Because a lot of people sold their shares on the basis of the high revenue report . As soon as that happens the share price can go down rapidly as many are selling . It soon stops as an equilibrium is reached and punters\investors realise that the profit margin from sales is lessening so they hold on to their shares at that point .

I can never understand this share price game.

Surely, if a lot of people sold their shares then a to of people also bough the same shares?

Your better half has a son who is a rag? Perhaps you should be looking at trading her in for an acceptable version. Either that, or get her to disown him.

So this "waiting list" is a figment of the rags', the media's and scum fans' imagination.

What a fucking surprise!

Four years ago "a friend" who thought the season ticket wait at the rags was 6 or seven years, looked at the ages of his kids and thought now's the time to put my name on said list as I'll be affluent enough to procure said season ticket when that time arrives
So he put his name on the list and two days later he was contacted as season tickets were available
