Serious question here:
Why are the rags dithering and not getting Mourinho in now? If the stories are true that LVG offered to resign in the past month then it would appear that he is prepared to walk away should the club make the decision. If they got him in now there is still a chance that the initial impetus would get them into the top 4. The longer they leave it the less likely they are to qualify.

Part of me is wondering if it is as cut and dried as people are making out that he actually wants the job.

Mourinho is probably weighing up his chances of winning stuff and his memory of this season and how hard it is to win the league he might give it a miss and go for the easy route of Psg manager.

It is so funny how they will do anything to be considered a "nice club" even when sacking Paul Mcguineess they tried to paint HE left them.

That is what is holding them back, thinking they are something special above other top clubs. Desperate comes to mind.

Well the club ( assisted by massive media influence ) certainly would have everybody believe that particular hype, and their " fans " are certainly something special - a bit like the kids in the remedial classes at school, the majority of them.

Is Paul McGuiness any relation to Wilf?

There's clearly a battle between the money men (the Glazers and their lackey Woodward) and the football men (Baconface, Gill, Charlton, etc). The Turtle is clearly a product of the former camp so the latter want him out. I'm not even sure that the football men really want Mourinho (and I seriously doubt that the Glazers do) so maybe Jose's also briefing the press and putting pressure on the club.

Whatever, it's great and long may it last.

Reading RAG cafe is comedy right now.. they are whipping themselves up into a frenzy hysterical LOL oh the benefits of them playing the early game on Saturday and losing, they now have the whole weekend in Pain and longer to digest it before their next game HAHA !!

Mourinho is no mug.
He'll be bruised from his dealings with Abramovic and want as watertight an agreement, as possible, with the Glazers.
Undoubtedly, he'll want a ball of money to splash about, too. One wonders if the Glazers have that much if an appetite (or possibly the cash flow) for binding themselves to such an expensive alliance.
Add in the near fact that they'll have no Chump's League revenue to call on next year and it's not so much the 'marriage of convenience' that the papers insist upon describing it. More of a forced-through shotgun wedding, if it does happen, methinks.

Mourinho won't want a team outside the CL so he can wait and see. He knows the rags are shite, we know the rags are shite, yet Maureen and City fans all wake up to see them 5th, not mid-table as we all perceive their rightful place to be. And the Save Our Louis clowns won't be happy until he's scraped a CL place because they think 4th is a disaster and the rot will continue. Well let's get one thing straight; 4th for them will be a fucking disaster if it's at our expense.
But there's still about a third of the season to go and they are six points (hopefully nine later) behind us and the window is closed. Maureen has to weigh up his chances of getting them to top four (or winning the EL) against hoping the turtle manages it (so he can take over) against the third option of pissing off to Paris.
He also has to consider the real value of the war chest. We laugh at every figure spewed out by the media morons, but Maureen (and any other replacement) will be sure to iron this out well in advance. Do the Glazers want all the new TV deal in their personal pockets or will they allow the manager and others to buy more overrated crap? They've got generous sponsorship deals in addition to the TV money so could release a fair chunk for team building.
The rags might want Maureen, but he probably doesn't want them at the moment and doesn't have to decide for a couple of months.
