And they mean business - they’ve already implemented a great set-up at Wolves by enticing Porto’s manager and have links to Mendes so have bought and loaned some quality players. If they come up - and they should as they’re undoubtedly the best team in the Championship - they’ve made noises about seriously going for it next season and beyond. I predict over the coming years they’ll emerge as the biggest threat to the so-called Big 6.
I hope it works out for them, they've had rough times down to poor administration just like we did for 20-odd years - it'd be good to see another "new face" contending for the top places.

Fair do’s the more the merrier.

Don't forget they're still paying for Rooney along with Zlatans huge wage, i'm not sure we'll see much action from them in this window unless they ship a few out first
Good point, i can imagine those wages with no real payback anymore (i doubt to many Zlatan shirts are selling now he is on his last legs) being an annoyance they want rid of. Consensus is Ibrahimovic is on 125k a week so that is a decent chunk still, more than Kane earns on his basic if media reports are close to accurate. No idea what they are still paying Rooney but it will not be small change i doubt considering they just wanted him gone.

Indeed. A return to the pre Liverpool 80’s level of competition would be nice - especially to see the meltdowns of plastics with the ‘want it now, want it all’ attitude.... though maybe my heart won’t take it these days!

I wonder how many articles/discussions we’ll see regarding wolves and fosen:
‘Investment money ruining football’
‘Skulking wolves only buy mercenaries’
‘They’ll get bored’
‘A nothing club with no history’
‘Empty stadium’
‘Never trusted the rice eating foriegners’
‘Xyz are the biggest club in midlands, always have been, always will be’
‘They have no class and speak funny’

I think my finger counting skills are probably safe from being overused with regard to the City only related paraphrases I’ve made up, above.

Good luck wolves (can’t say I’ve ever liked you, but the more the merrier)

But but but that's not fair.

Maybe he’s just aiming to retain the charity shield...

they may do, they have a long way to go and can choose the Leicester route or a longer-term legitimate route. Have to say whether they develop beyond buying what Mendes tells them to and becoming basically a profit-making machine for him, they need to have a strong board and management structure there to stop themselves being used by mercenaries who can quite easily muck it up for them. At the moment it just smells like Mendes planting a bunch of players there who he can try to sell at a huge profit to the rags, and carry on the cycle. I hope they have better plans and this is a short-term fix to get up.
