But 60 years...

Which passed last month. They've known the date of the actual anniversary since it happened but didn't decide to make a standalone programme in time and are forcing it in to this series and it really sticks out.

I'm going to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. It's not the actual day but it is the anniversary year so fuck it why not?

Er..........

He seems to be wearing a wedding ring, who did he marry? The mirror??

As a footnote (and I caveat this with the word ‘includes’ that you used) but the putative absence of Aberfan is an even bigger disgrace. That disaster ultimately gave rise to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which is arguably the most important single piece of legislation since the Second World War, in terms of shaping British society. If it has been excluded from that programme, then the producer is a fucking moron.
Couldn't agree more - like Hillsborough, Aberfan was a totally avoidable tragedy arising out of years of institutional neglect with those responsible trying to weasel their way out of the firing line. I was 12 at the time of the disaster and I still can't read articles or watch TV programmes about Aberfan without getting angry.

Munich was a terrible one-off accident but its inclusion in this series can only be seen as a ratings-grab. Far from being accidents, Hillsborough and Aberfan were the almost inevitable result of years of corporate and governmental negligence.

Completely agree and very well put.

Regarding the annoying follically challenged rag Nesbitt's series about Disasters That Changed Britain does the Burnden Park, Ibrox or the Bradford fire disasters not feature in the series seeing as they were football related tragedies as well?

Or when two Middlesbrough fans died at the hands of their moronic fans.

Or the young Tottenham fan or the Crystal Palace fan.
