I don't think you can read anything into the way the league will pan out until the CL has kicked off and we get into the nitty gritty of playing 2 games a week.

I don't think anybody is seriously saying the rags have it sewn up, it's just that our biased media have once again been spouting their usual bovine excreteia by trying to tell everyone that the rags are the greatest thing on planet football, and that the rest of us are mere no-hopers, waiting patiently in line to go up and collect our losers medal and then coming down to worship at the altar of all things raggy. Genuflecting before the eye gouger and telling him we're not worthy to lick his boots.
They've been doing this every year since the Premier League started, and they'll continue to do it all the while plastic fans who have never ventured from the comfort of their own armchairs will buy the tabloids, will subscribe to Sky, will masturbate themselves into the Guinness Book of Records whilst listening to the boiled bollock and his co-horts on TalkSport.

Sheep will always need a shepherd.

Reading between the lines, do I detect a faint air of cynicism about our neighbours and the way the media treat them?

Nice summing up.

After 2 games? You want to go back to the end of last September and look at the results and league table from week 6. The only two things the press were agreed on were that Chelsea couldn't win the league and City most likely would. Those predictions turned out well.....

So after the first 6 games last season the rags were 6th and later finished 6th. Satan's team.

Even the rag BBC have surpassed themselves this morning going with the headline that their darlings have a home draw (surprise surprise) to the mighty Burton.

Joke.

United fans are off their head.

Sign Zlatan: Best player ever.

Release Zlatan: it's a good thing, he slows us down, let Rashford play now

Re-sign Zlatan: Best player ever

LOL. :-)

There's truth in this - but to be fair, there's also some truth in what the Scum fans have said.

Zlatan, even in his prime, as great as he was, arguably weakened the sides he started in, in spite of his goal scoring prowess. And in spite of most of those sides winning their domestic title.

Zlatan walks about the pitch, demands the ball, and yes, scores... but he doesn't inspire his teammates. A Zlatan side is all about Zlatan.

Now, Zlatan is past his prime - clearly. Still a tremendous goal scorerer - and though he hasn't yet come back from injury, he's probably still got a world class year or two ahead of him.

But the fact remains - United would be weakened, IMO, with Zlatan coming back into their side in spite of his goal scoring threat.

Unbeaten all season and now Zlatan is back. May as well give them the Premier League trophy now.

Well, now they should have enough power up front to be a threat, I accept it. Gonna be interesting to see how Josephina will incorporate him into the team.

CSKA are always 4th in their group, they've won 1 of their last 20 CL group stage games. They're nowhere near Shakhtar and as easy a fixture as you get in the CL.

Basel. I like them but they've only gotten out of their group stage once in this format and that's thanks to Brendan Rodgers.

Benfica were a good side but have sold everyone again.

It would be the biggest failure of Mourinho's career to not top this group easily.

Agreed.

Then they can get dicked by one of the big boys later on in the tournament.

Zlatan won't be first choice now. He'll be behind Lukaku in the pecking order. Probably still bag 15 goals in cups and last 20 mins of games.
