Yep. It was the match where Keane did Alfie haaland, Irani didn't just say he was there but went into detail abt being only yards away and how even utd fans were gobsmacked around him. And as you say he was playing cricket hundreds of miles away.

I was at a cricket match at the real Old Trafford last summer and made a remark about Utd to a friend.

A fellow two or three rows in front turned round and butted in uninvited, saying "Just you buggers wait till war breaks out in the Middle East and your oil money dries up".

We know they are deluded, but has there ever been a more outlandish remark? I managed to keep a civil tongue in my head and put him right, insofar as you can talk sense to a Red.

If our oil money dries up then I suspect same will be true for the rest of the Middle East and there won't be much football being played at all. Fucking moron.

Yeah, I think it was a City fan that did a bit of digging and found that Ronnie was actually captaining Essex away to Leicestershire in a County Championship match on the very same day. And saying you got your matches mixed up is downright laughable. Then again, didn't Noel Gallagher once claim he was at York away and it was proven he was away touring somewhere?
