I can't see anyone paying what they're gonna want for De Gea. It will be insane money, and there are other options out there.

Plus, i think we're changing what people expect of a keeper, and you can already see others trying it out. De Gea is not that kind of keeper. Tethered to his line for 90 mins.......
i don't know if he can or can't.
i was saying to a lad last week, who thought de gea was the best in the world or at least the premier league, that if a keeper can't pass the ball out from the back,he will soon be on the scrap heap. every team that has ambitions of competing with city, have to buy an Ederson. And it won't be cheap.

if de gea has a huge contract and can't pass out from the back, then they are either stuck with him or have to make a big loss, or both.

It's the future.
I've seen it.
It's lovely.

There's already talk of the Brazilian keeper (Allison ) who is keeping Eddie out of the team, coming tot he Prem for circa £70m.

He’s probably the best keeper in the world......

Not a chance!

He's no better than any of the mid to lower Prem keepers currently plying their trade on these shores. But because the rags are worshipped by our media they could have fucking Amanda Holden in goal and she'd be lauded as the greatest keeper that ever breathed oxygen. Secondly, that bastard club are on the tv more often than the evening news, so the great unwashed are extremely familiar with most of their players: they are household names because they are seen so frequently on MoTD/Sky/BT etc. But celebrity status doesn't mean the person has a great talent - see the afore-mentioned Ms Holden for further details. See also James Corden, Miranda Hart, Lenny Henry, X Factor...you get the picture!

He's an okay-ish keeper, nothing more, nothing less. But any and all rag players are revered and worshipped by our sycophantic media (the name 'Custis' springs immediately to mind, for some reason).

Can't agree with that assessment Tom. The Rags are indebted to him on so many occasions, because they would concede so many more goals without him. DG and not Sanchez should be their highest earner for what he contributes to their results.

He is a very good shot stopper, but stays on his line and doesn't command his box .

Behind a packed defence, he does very well, but if he was exposed more his frailties would be apparent.

Best keeper in the world - I disagree but hey it's your opinion .

He must enjoy being a big fish in a small swamp.

And from experience (and obvious too), it's miles more fun playing in nets when you have shots to try n save.

Not sure Bravo ‘16/‘17 would agree with that last part of your post !
Can't argue with that - though the waiting to groan from our fans was Nicky Summerbee-esque. Must've been tough. Worst I had was some little scrote behind the goal on a Sunday trying to put me off.

The alpaca suits PEG's style down to the ground.

The back four defends the penalty box, so DT doesn’t need to be good with his feet.

that's what i was trying to say,in a roundabout way.

when mourinho goes, they will have to go through this whole transition thing all over again or be left behind.

or just get pardew and stay as they are.

De Gea is basically Joe hart about 3 seasons ago IMHO

The position, and the demands of those in it, has moved on MIHO

He reminds me a lot of David Seaman - excellent positioning (the ball seems to just "hit" them) but there are weaknesses beyond that.

I only remember Seaman coming off his line twice too - both ended in disaster
