I'd say Macguire is about the same as PJ re: ability, but he does seem to have a certain swashbuckling drive about him - and I feel that leadership is one of the big things the rags are in dire need of.




...along with new fullbacks, wingers, motivated midfielders who put a shift in and a new manager.

They kept deGae when he wanted out. I think they’ll also keep Pogba. But Pogba may struggle to find form if he’s at odds with his manager. You’d think it was easier for a GK just to get on with it.

Fifteen years ago keepers completed less than 43% of their passes, but in 2017-18 that had risen to 54%, with Guardiola's muse Ederson completing 85.3% last season, a figure that put him level with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

I'm surprised at that. Pogba is brain-dead and certainly not a Barca-type player.

Don't worry, manu are going to buy him back in a couple of years for £500 million anyway

They have 5 - 2 of them were signed by Mourinho. Madness if they sign another and go into the season with 6 and not a decent full back under the age of 30 something.

Given the way their tactics are, wouldn't be surprised if they play Maguire as a full back!

This 'deadline' doesn't affect European teams. Barca will still have until 31/08, to take Pogba. United only have until Thursday, to get replacements.
