Pochettino would be a smart choice but I can't see Levy letting go - will depend on will of the Argentine too
I reckon Poch will be more than happy where he is. Big wage, no pressure whatsoever to win anything because everybody knows Levy is a tight bastard. Why would he give that up to put himself under massive pressure at the swamp?

Having undermined his coach in the Summer with his comments on Man Utd's transfer activity, you'd have thought the Utd board would be well down the road to making an alternative appointment, but although there have been the odd report of links to other managers, it's largely quiet.

It makes you think that their CEO is not that media savvy. Really that should be an essential part of the job. At the time, I assumed that Woodward knew exactly what he was doing (because he quickly followed his transfer briefing with the Director of Football comment. Two comments which could be interpreted as a lack of confidence in the coach strongly suggested a board with a lack of confidence in their coach), but now it looks more like an error of judgement.

There's now a direct path to Champions League elimination>>>>>

There's now a double header in that group: Utd play Juve home and away and Valencia play Young Boys home and away. I'd still back Utd to go through because Valencia's forwards looked very weak and Valencia lost at home to Juve. The group will be decided by the games between Juve, Valencia and Utd with Young Boys conceivably losing every game.

If Utd go out in the group stages of the Champions League that will surely trigger Mourinho's dismissal. I don't know what the bookie's odds on them failing to qualify are but they've put themselves under some pressure now (as we did - the difference City are better and most would have confidence in City turning the group around).
Their next two games are against Juventus and you can see them losing both while Valencia win both of their games against Young Boys. That’ll put them on 4 points and Valencia on 7. Then they’ve got YB at home and surely even they will win that while Valencia should lose in Turin. The last game therefore will see the rags go to Valencia with both on 7 points meaning it’s effectively a knock-out game.

I agree with you that if they lose that and they’re still out of touch with the leaders in the PL then he’s gone.

He'd walk go there tomorrow I reckon. They are at their lowest, probably even lower than when Moyes was there. He can't lose really. Even with no budget they would improve and play better football but the fact remains he would be paid more than at Spurs whilst having a good budget too. He wont be happy winning nothing at Spurs whilst being given no funds.

I agree.

Watched from about 32 minutes last night and had a right good laugh. How can anybody think Lukaku is 75m pound of player.

I know it's not the same as club football, but the difference in him at the World Cup was astonishing. All that movement he had there, and at United, just none at all.

if juve beat united twice they are through, so might be a bit "meh" about Valencia, im sure they would prefer Valencia in the next round rather than united.

PEG accusing GMP for the late arrival of the team bus (no escort) before the game last night. GMPs response is hilarious!!. ........basically say they have more important issues to deal with..........get back in your box PEG!! (Apologies if this has already been posted)
Ohhh the irony of not being able to park the team bus on time!
