united once again will go for the quick fix and pump another 300 million in rather than sit a few years in transition and its all city's fault, they cant sit back while we are clearing up, the quick fix will never work it only makes the problem worse the problem being they have fallen on their own sword with the success whiskey had, its a job no one really wants because the likely result in failure will trash a managers CV beyond repair, they as a club will never be happy until they have appointed a manager that can duplicate slurs success but their is no such person in existence so the wheel keeps turning in the manager merry go and the club continues to be financially sucked dry.

Hopefully. It would be so funny if they went down the Leeds and Portsmouth route.

Actually, there is such a manager, but he is already gainfully employed only a few miles away

Absolutely not. There's a huge job to be done there.

Just been out for lunch with a United-supporting friend and we went through their squad and worked out who, if a new manager came along and looked at them all carefully, he would keep. There's De Gea, Matic & Pogba who would probably be automatic starters. He said Lukaku but I didn't agree he would be automatic although you might give him a chance. There's Shaw, Bailly, Martial & Rashford who are younger players with some promise that might be worth keeping and making something of. Lingard possibly might have a future and I thought Smalling might be worth it as a squad player, which he didn't agree with. The rest you wouldn't want.

So that's a whole new first-choice back four, a couple of creative midfield players in the mould of Silva/De Bruyne, cover for Matic and at least 2 forwards. At least half a bilion in today's market. The alternative is to bring in someone like Pochettino, who has a record of developing younger players and getting them into the first team successfully. But tat would mean they'd have to give him a full five years and accept the consequences, which are probably missing out on top four for some or all of those 5 years and therefore not getting the CL revenue they currently budget for. That would hit them financially as they'd also lose some sponsorship revenue. Whether the Glazers could accept that is questionable so they'll probably carry on making unsuitable managerial appointments to chase instant success.

I spoke to a long serving Rag season ticket holder today, he hates Matic. He'd only use him if they were 2-0 up.
Says he gets over ran too easily and is a throw back to OShea in midfield, just passes 3 foot backwards or sideways.
He got no time for Lukaku either.

Says they're no longer interested in scouting networks but social networks for their recruitment.

I hope they're all not this clued up. They might actually get something going.

My mate wanted a full new hierarchy.

Woodwood, nothing to do with football, just getting noodle partners.

He wanted an experienced CEO, he said get Kenyon back or similar.
He wanted a DOF like Txiki, he mooted someone like Blanc, RVN or Larsson. Basically someone continental with a brain.

He then wanted a young manager like a Howe or Nagglesmann to be given time and build.

Fortunately, I could laugh and say dream on, he agreed.

He thinks it will be Zidane and some more show ponies.
