He's reacted as a fan. Can't criticise him that much for that. The last 20 years or so, sure.

No....fuck let us hope mirror is wrong!! Peg must stay
We need him there! Save Maureen.... Come on!
I agree other than one scenario where it descends into total anarchy at the club with no decent manager willing to take the job and they end up fighting relegation.

Not the first time I have heard Butt suggested. Wouldn't be a bad idea (for utd) tbh, if that means he's a caretaker whilst the club sorts itself out. However I suspect that whilst they will change the manager, the rest of the rot will remain.

One can hope lol

Neville ended his little rant about United by saying he hopes City and Liverpool both lose this weekend, seems we are playing each other it's hardly fucking likely is it the thick twat.

I think that was the joke mate...

It’s a shame if Mourinho does get sacked this weekend, but on the bright side there is absolutely no guarantee that Woodward will get the next appointment right. His track record isn’t great, after all. Hopefully it will at least put an end to this absurd notion that United are somehow different to other clubs.

Hope Neville is right, and that there is an outpouring of support for Mourinho at the game tomorrow. Will just show how fragmented they are as a club. Great stuff.

It's great to see what a shit show it is there now. So many chickens coming home to roost.

All this talk about "the DNA of the club", "the United way" was all an illusion created by one exceptional manager who papered over the cracks of their clueless owners for the 8 years between them coming along and him going (and that was after yet another argument with them which was the final straw for him). He also had a chief executive who knew his way around the football world and while they also had their fall-outs, they worked together as a very effective team against those owners (certainly not with them). And when he went, they just thought it would carry on regardless because of that "club DNA".

Yet 5 years and 3 managers later (4 including Giggs' caretaker stint) it's dawning on them that this DNA doesn't actually exist. It's a myth and they're just another football club with clueless owners who are more worried about what they get out than what they put in. The whole squad needs rebuilding bar the goalkeeper and maybe a handful of others and all the money they've spent in the last few years they may as well have flushed down their gender-neutral toilets. Even the manager once regarded as one of the best in the world couldn't save them.

Do they now go for another big ego, spend another half a billion quid and hope to scrape back into the top four or do they accept they've got to spend a few seasons in a less exalted position, cut their financial cloth accordingly and try to build from scratch on the cheap?

It's fucking great.
