Speak for yourself mate..We are turning into United fans by the second.
My favourite bit of that was always the way Mancini totally blanked him after the gesture when Ferguson wanted to carry on the row. Beautiful.
What about DiMaria. Weren't we interested in him at the time too but he was too costly for us?From what I'm told that's not true on Falcao, we told his agent no thanks. Still funny though.
Yet the banner came down after we beat Stoke at Wembley when he started with two up front (Mario and Tevez), and power-shift Sunday also saw us start with 2 up top (Mario and Sergio).Went to a question and answer session at the Etihad, where bobby was getting a bit of stick about playing one up front.
His response was he would drive down the Mancunian way and take that banner down and btw he would play one up front.
Yes he got it and he kept his word.
What ever else he did I loved him for that.
Manchester United v Everton
United are all over the place at the moment, but I do see them winning this one. I think the shackles have got to come off at some point.
Against Juventus, I sat down to watch it thinking 'here we go - they will get into them, squeeze them up the pitch' but they ended up playing like it was a testimonial game. You watch the other 'top six' teams and there's a plan there. You can see a pattern to their play and how they have scored a goal. When United score, it's like someone has fallen over the ball and it's gone in. It's just happened - you do not watch it and think 'they've worked on that'. It's all off the cuff with United.
Everton will cause them problems, but surely United can edge it. It's Manchester United.
However, if they somehow make the top four then they would have pulled up trees this season.
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1
From Merson’s league predictions feature on SSN:
The last sentence is especially informative. I assume he is referring to United (Merson’s blow-addled writing means I may be wrong there), which would mean they’ve moved the goal posts the other way for United. We have to win the league several times in a row and dominate the CL to be considered the greatest every PL team. United simply have to make the top four to be “pulling up trees” at this point.
