Lingard is a bit of a late developer, but he looks a decent enough player to me, and more importantly to a fair few decent judges, including Guardiola it seems.

I'm interested? Not being an arse, but what exactly do you see in Lingard? What even is his position?
I've no real interest in who Lingard plays for but for my money, he has no real position, is incredibly limited technically and positionally.
He's a liability on the ball, his passing is very average and his mentality isn't great.
I really don't see anything in him.

Regards the original poster, Rashford I personally don't rate and see him as incredibly limited in game intelligence but can understand that his pace & directness my impress people.

Me personally? I don't have any strong views on him at all to be honest, and I'm not sure I'm qualified to start talking about the technical side of the game sufficiently to advance a case for him. The only thing I'd say is that some better judges than me say he's got something, and while the Manyoo English player rule does apply, I don't feel I can completely dismiss that.

I'd love to be able to sit down with one of those football people and have them explain why they think so.

That's fair enough, but I think we can all agree that United have had countless of these rank average footballers who've been over hyped. In the past players like O'Shea, Brown, chuckle 2, Cleverley, Fletcher et al were rank average as their post United careers have gone on to show. Only in the past, they were carried by the United juggernaut, now they're just like any other side, the shite players just look shite.

I hear pundits saying it's his movement that's so impressive. Now I'm not a huge stats man, but as he's a forward, if his movement is so impressive, then surely he'd actual put some half decent numbers up. He doesn't.

He is nowhere near our level, that was the original discussion.
 
Fookin love lingard rashford and every other rag twat at the old toilet at the moment

Giving me more laffs than Monty python fools and horses and blackadder ever did and long may it continue
