United thread 2019/20

United have always thrown money at their squad and it took baconface years and unimaginable money (for that era) before it came right
For the last ten years we've had one of the best squads in Europe, have been successful but haven't had everything our own way
There is so much money in the PL now that no team is a pushover. So unless there is a Leicester style Premier league where everyone is crap, no way are our red neighbours going to be seriously challenging for the league for at least five years

…is correct.

I accept that but that is another reason why you cannot compare the dippers to the Rags as Ric and Mark The Blue said. When the Glazers bought the Rags they were flying high and it was easy to lump 560 mill of debt onto the rags as they were always going to service that...except the stock has gone steadily downhill since. If a new buyer comes in, even a wealthy Saudi Prince. he would have to ask the following questions;
a) How do we service the debt if we are mid table or lower.
b) How do we afford a refurb of the stadium/corporate (where the money is)
c) How do we reduce other overheads like wages to take a profit.
d) What is our long term exit strategy. ( Sheikh Mansour has one the Glazers don't)
In normal business terms the Rags are looking like Marks and Spencers, HMV and many others.

If a buyer who is worth 10b+ they could pay up all debt problem is no one knows what the loan deal are set up like and what the fcuk the is going on in the Cayman Islands!

They certainly have the capacity to get back to the top. Quite easily, in fact. If they had someone with clear vision and nous, it wouldn't take them long.

The key, IMO, is to keep the status quo with the way they're run - the Glazers, a lackey like Two Planks, and no DoF. It doesn't matter who is managing them with these leeches in charge, they won't have a discernible effect. A while ago I suggested that the last thing we should want to happen is for them to get relegated after a bunch of posters stated it was their biggest wish, which caused some of those posters to deride the suggestion. However, it's a significant event that could become a catalyst for a proper supporter uprising and/or sale of the club, even simply because the earning capacity of the club is at severe risk of diminishing rapidly, potentially causing the Glazer twats to sell up.That is absolutely the only thing they care about here.

Keep stringing them along with all these big false dreams, promises and hopes - 'we have so much money, we can buy anyone and do anything' and mentioning that they're Manchester United Football Club repeatedly. After basking in the glory of their latest defeat, I read something quite pertinent on Ragcafe - something along the lines of 'Ed Woodward is just a new Mike Ashley'. Amen.

He lives in Miami....

Always puzzles me the Cayman thingy, with FFP we're picked over with a fine toothcomb while there's a big black hole in the rag finances that can't be seen.

Did anyone hear Barney Ronay on the Guardian football podcast discussing Rashfords injury?

He said "has the way Rashford originally re-injured his back come out yet? No? Oh well just wait for that, I'm sure it will be widely reported soon and it sounds much worse".

Haven't seen anyone pick up on it yet but it sounds like something even more calamitous and funny is going to come out.

Might be this...

Marcus Rashford’s back was giving him such pain in the days leading up to his fateful appearance against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week that he was struggling just to sit down for an interview, it has emerged.

The Manchester United and England striker filmed an interview with Ryan Giggs at Hotel Football next to Old Trafford the weekend of the 4-0 win over Norwich but the discomfort in his back was so acute that he was forced to stand up for long periods of it.

Despite concerns about his existing back problems, Rashford was then brought on as a second half substitute in the FA Cup third round replay at home to Wolves a few days later and suffered a double stress fracture following a collision with Matt Doherty

It all so funny...i cannot stop laughing. However beware we are soon to play them, a 2 goal lead should protect us from any silliness but we do have form for losing to the shiteist teams this season, them and Norwich!

What is it that silly fat **** said..."may as well be Celtic" more like "be better if we were Celtic" . They are fucking rubbish.....wank....a massive humungus pile of shit.

Long may it continue.

What their dopey fans can't understand is that they hate the GLAZERS and yet they have pumped millions into buying players for these self entitled fuckwits. They trusted their supreme leader when he announced Moyes as his successor. They upgraded to a manager who had won the champions league and brought Holland to the SF of the world cup. They then hit the jackpot when they got probably the 2nd most coveted manager in Europe. Between those managers they got some of the top players in Europe, Di Maria, Depay , swinestiger ,lukaku and falcao .Pulled off a coup when they signed Pogba, they gloated when the gazumped us for sanchez, Fred and Maguire Yet not one dissenting voice spoke up about any of these appointments or signings ln the words of our glorious leader 'Reg', from the PFOJ "what have the GLAZERS ever done for the rags
