Also you cannot underestimate how important the GPC was for putting pressure on the refs, now he has gone the fear factor has gone. Now if they do not give a penalty or they do book someone for diving they are not going to get a tirade of abuse for 2 weeks from him. Can you imagine our little friend Ole trying to go apeshit about a ref ? I have seen a quote where he has said (re Saturday ) 'the ref did not have a very good game' it is about the 5th story in on Westmorland Gazette (available on line and in most good outlets) The refs are now getting their revenge for 20 years of abuse and fear. Long may it continue.

Remember a game back in the 2000s where the rags were playing Norwich at home.
The linesman didn't flag for what the gpc thought was offside,at the post match interview he said how the official had a shocker and how it wasn't for him to say if the official should be allowed to run the line again,but his performance should certainly be looked at.
The blotchy faced prick was attempting to influence and ruin the guys career on the back of a decision he didn't like,and I'm pretty sure the arseholes won the game anyway.

Most of this is a load of horseshite (80m would be about 10x any other stadium sponsorship in football) but it sounds like Neville is worried about who the next generation is going to support.

Don't know about the record but the rags were awarded 12 penalties in the PL last season, more than any other team. City were awarded 4 with only 5 teams awarded fewer.
