United thread 2020/21

Ferguson lurking in the background is not helping things at United. They had a similar issue with Matt Busby till they essentially pushed him out. One of the smartest moves Liverpool did was to ban Shankly from the training ground. They got a lot of flak for it but it was a good call.
Ferguson's presence just confirms Solskjaer's role as a poodle and must be one of the reasons the players show him little or no respect. Having baconface giving the team little pep talks before big games is pathetic. Can you imagine Pep (or any serious manager) allowing that sort of thing on a match day. The club has become a laughing stock. Long may it last.
You can't have former managers hanging about however good they were, simply not right.

He should be nowhere near that club, not even in the stands.

The problem is you can rely on sky and the BBC to keep on churning out documentaries on them and Liverpool. Last night and today we've had an almost two hour one on the rags with Cantona narrating a lot of it, talk about brainwashing. Then one about George Best. We've had the class of 92, Salford City and Liverpool 30 years in the making. I don't recollect them making one about us after a 44 year wait for the title.

They keep on pushing these programmes, all sentimentally done to attract new fans, they make them out to be like a religious thing rather than a football club. Brainwashing and it works

History clubs consigned to history is all I’m seeing.

Oh that reminds me - years ago I heard such a funny joke to do with him and his demise - to do with trying to adjust his TV aerial to see a big footy match. Can anyone recall it and remind me - the phrase Hull going down was part of it and I'm sorry, but I I think it was a Utd match!
In what year did Hull go down as a result of Manchester United playing Juventus. Also there was a letter in Viz not long after that which said " Rod Hull. It finished 1-1 by the way"

No one at the club will dare stand up to him. If anyone there even suggested that his continued presence was having a negative effect on the club his mindless minions (Ratboy, Ginger Pig etc) would ensure any and all dissenting voices would be silenced - immediately.

The club has become the North Korea of the Premier League: financial dealings shrouded in secrecy in the Cayman Islands, distrustful to the point of paranoia towards any and all outsiders, journalists being given ‘sweeteners’ to ensure the club is painted in a positive light, and press camera men being told what parts of the ground they can and cannot take pictures of.
It’s an oppressive regime based on a totalitarian system that is at odds with the rest of the 21st century, one that shows no sign of even attempting to keep up with the rest of world - because the rest of the world is outside of both North Korea and the rags’ control, so they want no part of it.

Bob Dylan once wrote about times changing, and old orders rapidly fading…pity no one told the rags about it.

TBH.....I still think Rashford is a poor version of Wellbeck.....never seen anything that even puts him level.
Funny, that's what I'm feeling too. I do think perhaps rashfird can finish a little better, and is maybe a tad faster.
But all too regularly get a sense of 'happiest running fast in a straight line' when I watch him.
