Of course the kids of feckless and neglectful parents shouldn't suffer hunger or any other depravation for that matter and here in lies the heart of the problem... as it stands we're encouraging and generously rewarding the most workshy and feckless members of society, often people who are barely capable of looking after themselves never mind be responsible for raising children, to sit at home breeding.Even if the parents are feckless (which may sometimes, but not always, be the case), does that mean the kids should suffer???
I have no desire to get into a prolonged argument about politics on a football forum. I pointed out the obvious problem with your earlier post, i.e. that the kids shouldn't suffer. You say that you agree so let's leave it there.Of course the kids of feckless and neglectful parents shouldn't suffer hunger or any other depravation for that matter and here in lies the heart of the problem... as it stands we're encouraging and generously rewarding the most workshy and feckless members of society, often people who are barely capable of looking after themselves never mind be responsible for raising children, to sit at home breeding.
At what point do we grasp the nettle and deal with this issue by stopping awarding such generous benefits to people to people who can't afford to have kids and who are too feckless, irresponsible and neglectful to look after hem properly anyway.
Not sure how this arrives on the United thread?
I don't agree with the assumptions/conclusions reached but will defend your right to express them although maybe not on this thread.
I find myself in agreement with St Marcus in saying 'whatever the political affilations, can we just start with the notion, 'its not right for a child to go to bed hungry in 2021' - now - how do we get there?
Being top of the league after 17 games is not a measurement of who is the best team in the league at all. Southampton were top a few weeks ago, would you seriously suggest that Southampton were the best team in the league. Until all teams have played each other twice, ir one team has mathematically won the league, then the league table does not matter. They have not played Liverpool at all yet and played all the other 'top' teams at home. Donald Trump was winning before at one point, before all the votes were countes. Did not do him much good.I agree entirely James, my beef was with a deluded nobend who was ranting about them (current league leaders) being crap and banging on with some “they can’t possibly win it” nonsense.
Having pointed out the currently best team in the premier league (league position being how it’s measured) can’t be crap, the idiot then started with the abuse. . called me a rag, which is the very worst if abuse on this forum and absolutely unforgivable.
It won’t happen again as I’ve put the turd on ignore.

Also, they are not even the form team in the country, we are.
Actually in the league they are amazingly, won 5 drawn 1, we are 3rd behind Everton who have won 5 lost 1Being top of the league after 17 games is not a measurement of who is the best team in the league at all. I’ve not mentioned “best team” because that’s incredibly subjective, what I have said is that success in a league system is measured by where the team’s sit.
You might hate them with a vengeance but trying to talk away their league position is nonsense.
They are the most successful team in the English league system after 17 games - dress it up how you like but that’s how it is and I wish that we were sat where they are now.
I did not say the league though. Have a look in all competitions. It is definitely not United as they are out of 50% of the tournaments they entered. They have lost more than double the amount of games we have.Actually in the league they are amazingly, won 5 drawn 1, we are 3rd behind Everton who have won 5 lost 1
