Whoever gets appointed has to live with 3 (Ignoring the individual players) disatrous failures going forward, continuing to prevent a true assessment of their dire situation and stopping any chance of progressing.
First, as with all recent managers, the spectre of Fergie looms large, until he pops his clogs. His failure to move away is acting as a very unhealthy anchor to their glorious past.
Second, the present failed manager is also moving upstairs to become the Head of Shite, and will make life difficult for the incomer, as his mere presence will again prevent a truly critical approach of how the business - sorry, club - has been run in recent times. I know that's supposed to be part of his job, but it ain't gonna happen, because of 1 above and 3...
3rd, the disastrous collection of players have no empathy with any incoming manager, and additions to the squad without a mass clearout beforehand, will only result in further unhappiness and demoralisation from the inadequate players already there, many of whom - step forward Jones and Lingard, but there are numerous others - can afford to sit on lucrative contracts which have no chance of being matched elsewhere. This is so reminiscent of City in years gone by, but - happily - I can't see how their business model is ever going to allow them to change things so that they have the clear-out they need.
So, whether it's Tuchel, Pocchetino or Pullis, they're going nowhere slowly. Happy days, as they're staying light years behind us.
Thank God they appointed that footballing God,Wreck-it Ralph, to steer the bus to success. The wheels on the bus literally do go round and round in every sense. Do we have City fans on the board there?
Anyway, mind the gap!
