The CFG model is stymied by the ownership rules. The authorities fear that Girona would allow City to win if they were to meet in a Champs League match. Fair enough but....
I find it strange that Neville a died in the wool rag can manage a team in a lower division with no conflict of interest. (Cup matches) and no one bats an eyelid when the rags play Derby in a pre season friendly. I am basically saying they all shit in the same bed but no one bothers about it. What if the paperboy job depended on winning the next match which just happened to be one of these?

Derby played Salford pre season as well

I still don't see these as an sort of threat for the league. The quality of their squad is shocking for a club that has spent as much as they have, and squads win titles rather than teams.
They finished 2nd last year but they flattered to deceive. I can't remember the exact statistic but something like 50% of their games, they were losing at some point and obviously both Liverpool and Chelsea blew up spectacularly. Still think they'll finish 4th; I just think us, Liverpool and Chelsea are better than them.

They won’t finish anywhere near us. Their first team isn’t better than ours and their squad is wank. They will finish below Chelsea and Liverpool.

This is a very important point. I had a discussion recently about the effect empty grounds may have had last season, negating the usual 'home advantage', but I was told that basically, over a season, it all evens out in the end.

However, that might be the case for a mid-table team with average attendance vs another mid-table team with similar attendance, but Utd. are not like that and its been 8 years now since they won a title. The pressure grows year by year.

Last season when they went behind, as they did many times, they often got back into matches and even then won them. But I reckon this season, when they go a goal down and have 75,000 fans screaming at them, it might not be so easy. I think the empty grounds helped Utd. last season.

Over on the caf some hopeful fan has just put a poll up 'Predict our final position 2021-22' - I might register so I can vote!

I'm worried though, if I tick option 5 (5th-7th) the people who run the SOO thread won't be happy with me!

United fan in peace ✌️

Out of interest why would you waste your time signing up to caf just to fake being fan to post that you’ll think we’ll finish between 5th -7th.

Just front up and join as a city fan to debate impartiality about your feelings about us rags.

For the record only 32% have voted so far for United to finish top, of which I wasn’t one. The caf In general is full of realist full time Utd members who recognise city rightfully have the strongest squad in the prem and depending how big Rom does Chelsea along with the dippers and us can hopefully challenge you properly.

Best of luck for this season
