Rangnick is a real counterattacking manager, he'll let Ronaldo and 1 other stay up, wait for the opposition to get into midfield before they press and then try to hit Ronaldo or (presumably) Rashford with the first pass.

If its like his RB teams, all the pressing will be in the midfield and Ronaldo will just have to block passing lanes back to the defence.

Should take him a while to implement his system though

when will they learn football turned a corner about 5 years ago when pep brought his keep ball and make the other team chase

just watch the game vs PSG last night ? no team can carry anybody up front not even the best frontline in europe could cope with pep and manchester city ? ronadlo has become lazy and does not or can not do the hard yards anymore
 
If the players could't bring themselves to put a shift in for everyone's favourite super-sub club legend Bilbo Baggins of the Shire, what makes them think they'll step up for a 63 year old German who will be gone in 6 months?

Ralf Rangnick is a genius and would be my choice for our next Manageras I’ve been on about in that thread for year.

Im Gutted they got him and hope they do not give him the job beyond the end of this season.

Within a month there will be no more crap United.

No offence but if you think Ralph Rangnick is old school I'd suggest you don't know what you're talking about.

This guy is who influenced and mentored the current wave of German coaches - Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, Flick, Hasenhuttl (tehcnically austrian).

All of these managers basically built their style of play on copying Rangnick's Hoffenheim side of the late 00's. Klopp has literally said as much.

Unfortunately you couldn’t be more wrong.

He is exactly what they need.

The fact the public don’t know him is meaningless. He sorts the club out from bottom to top.
