Pretty sure Rags stated they got him for 22 million at the time and the Monaco chairman went to press and said that is not true:

Papers re deal show United agreed to pay €50m (£38m)

But they will have to stump up another €10m (£7.6m) if he scores 25 league goals Yep. Achieved so that fee on top

€10m if he wins 25 caps for France Yep. Achieved so that fee also

So he has so far cost them over 53 million pounds

And

But it also details that if United sell Martial for more than €60m (£45m), then Monaco will get half of the capital gains as part of the deal.

Of course Simon Stone not mentioning any of this in his report, just he joined for 36 million despite him already costing the Rags 53 million
