I’m a Liverpool guy but I actually agree with this. I break with my fans that complain about spending. I also worry about the Henry out folks—and the same fans don’t want “a plaything” and the same fans demand “announce X 50 M signing”.

We are spending on wages and contracts but fans only see marquee transfer fees. More important than spending is having a vision and knowing what you are doing.

So keeping this on topic, ideally they don’t get a new midfielder. I don’t like the idea of Greenwood becoming a star, and a new DM added to their midfield.

Ole has been subpar but he’s young. Hopefully he doesn’t learn or adapt. They really really need to NOT win the league in the foreseeable future. A pity about Leicester two seasons ago, they could’ve knocked them out of the champions league (guess others hoped they’d do same to us last season).
As well as them lot really really not winning the league, could really really do with you not winning it either.

I know “it means more” but it was painful

;)

They’ve outspent you lot and Madrid COMBINED since 2018.

As they like ‘history’, here’s one — they’ve made the four most expensive signings in league history.

Ofcourse spending is not inherently bad, but they like to go on about “right way” and “earning it”.
And let's all keep reminding them spent 1.4 Billion since last winning the league

SSN have given Sancho a nice little you tube highlights reel to keep their armchair rags wanking away.

Can't remember seeing this for other club singings?

L'Equipe are saying Varane to the rags is done.

I hope this is true and he passes the medical - another inadequate centre half joins United's - and the Premier League's - long list of failed expensive signings.
Thank God Ollie's staying at the wheel for the foreseeable future.
:-)

I don't think the media realise just how desperate the rags plight is at the moment though because they're actually contemplating selling Phil Jones to recoup some of their spending, according to one paper today.

Guys - I think we're gonna need a "Save Phil the Face" thread; we can't let him leave after all the fun he's given us over the last decade or so.
He's the future, you know - Fergie said so, was it, 10 or 11 years ago now?

Varane is a top class signing no idea how Madrid are letting him go after losing Ramos. United will be strong next season but their manager lets them down. Hope Pogba goes to PSG.

Never ever understood this reasoning from the likes of them and liverpool. We earned the money so are allowed to spend it. You got given it so arent.
What
Difference
Does
It
Make ???
Livery earned it in donations from Littlewoods.
The rags earned it by share issues and investment from Dear Mr Murdoch.

Obviously, earning money in those ways is much more honourable than investment with dirty oil money.
