It worked once for Fergie when they got Van Persie - since then they have wasted an enormous amount of money on players we were (possibly interested in) supposedly to enhance their squad. Failed miserably.
Definitely the case with Fred and Sanchez, jury still out on Maguire. Ronaldo will score loads for them but that salary is absurd for a 36 year old player they didn’t really need. Who is it supposedly “inflating the market” again?

We know the answer to that, but the media will never publish the truth.

United looked better last season with cavani upfront.
it’s now becoming the Ronaldo show, every camera shot, every reaction is about Ronaldo.
I can see the players getting pissed off with it especially stars like pogbad and penandes.
They will implode by January.
I honestly think Ronaldo wanted city but crumbled under the peer pressure once the rumours got leaked. He knows he had a real shot of going out on a high at city and would of scored shit loads with our midfield and service.
Anyhow…. United have 2 seasons max to win something otherwise there star man will be nearly 40!! Hahahaha
Yep. When goofy missed that pen on saturday the camera panned straight to ronaldo.

With the Rags getting Ronaldo in, I can certainly see parallels with what they did with Van Persie.
Get an aging but experienced player in for a final swan song season in an attempt to drag them to a title. It worked spectacularly well for them with Van Pussie that time as he managed to stay injury free and turned games around from losing positions to get a win.
However by GPC using that strategy (including persuading Scholes to play another season) to win his last title, effectively meant that he left the squad needing a complete revamp.
So until now they just seem to spunk vast amounts o cash on high profile star signings, with little thought to team cohesion.
The Rag’s ongoing transition phase with so many false dawns, is a joy to behold. Long may it continue
