There is no United way, its a complete PR fabrication perpetuated by simpleton pundits and the paid-for media. There was a Busby way for a while and a Ferguson way for a long time. There wasn't any way, apart from an unsuccessful way, in between and since.

the problem is football has moved on completely from that dinosaur’s time. Positions on the pitch have changed unrecognisably with full backs being the furthest attacking player, the adoption of technology in training and general health etc etc

he’s the one we need to keep at the club not the next hot shot manager who will come with an impressive CV to be told he’s got to play in a way that even U12s would now find limiting
 
Their biggest footballing problem they have is Ronaldo. It may affect their chances of appointing a top coach.

Beyond that they lack footballing insight in their management structure but that requires only one or two appointments. They are not doomed to fail indefinitely but they are doomed to fail until they get knowledgeable football into the club in senior managerial positions. That is what Sheikh Mansour did. He appointed top business and footballing administrators and threw money at it. Man utd throw money at it but don't have the expertise to make it work.

He took the job when they jettisoned Mourinho when they were languishing off the pace in mid table. Spent over £500 million, didn’t win a thing and left the club languishing off the pace in mid table. Ship steadied.
