Talking of the "drunken old fart", BBC Radio Four keep tailing a programme that's on tonight - all about Ferguson, "an interview with a legend". Sycophancy coming up by the bucketload. I bet they don't ask him " When are you going to call it a day and let the new boss do his own thing?" , or "What do you make of the mess the rags are in now, after the rubbish you bequeathed to them?"Now Mr. Mancini, what would you tackle first?
I'd tell that drunken old fart to piss off. I did it before, and I'll do it again.
Not only that, I noted from the TV listings that something called Pick TV was showing a programme the other night about the history of Man United, "directed and co-written by Eric Cantona", and entitled (sickeningly) "The United Way".
I think there's only the rise of the Nazis that gets more blanket TV coverage than this lot. And on Sky as often as not "Premier League legends: Gary Neville".
All about the past. Cos that's where that lot belong.
