I'll accept his apology at face value because he's a fucking moron, but I'd point out that no one in that Twitter response thread has mentioned that not only was the comparison daft, but that he's not even right about Woodward.

FFS, every Utd fan wants to pin what shit they've become on ONE thing or ONE person in the desperate, stupid, unrealistic hope that ONE thing or ONE person can turn it all around and restore their "glory". Probably because so much of that glory really did come down to one purple-nosed authoritarian.

But this very thread here on bluemoon is filled with long, detailed examples from many posters about why their current predicament is the result of TEN YEARS of bad mistakes by a WIDE VARIETY of people, while at the same time, several OTHER clubs in the Prem (including City) were making very sound long-term investments AND intermediate-term decisions.

Their goal should be top 8 next year, but it won't be -- it will be something grander. Whatever it is, I hope they fail like the miserable twats they are.

The context doesn’t help it at all and actually makes it worse.

Just seen on Twitter the Star have picked up on it so even newspapers, albeit shitty ones, are calling it out.

They’ve even said “Ferdinand co-host”.

These days that’s career ending.

How was Munich a disaster for United?
Munich was a tragedy on so many levels for the victims and their families but United turned it into a PR opportunity and used it to gain sympathy and fans.
They exploit it to this day.

simon stones piece on the bbc tonight is a delight to read, makes it sound like they need about 15 players incoming, haha, they get deeper in the shit with every failure.

Treated the bereaved families appallingly then years later milked the event for all its worth when they realised they could make money out of it.

Like the dippers, they control the media. They had absolutely no interest in the Munich disaster (apart from the wave of sympahty) until some marketing bod realised there was money to be made.
