This always puzzles me, generally poor population in poor countries.....I can't get my head around them buying Official and not snide stuff at a fraction of the price.

They're buying snide stuff, it's the marketing exposure that counts.

They definitely buy snide stuff nearly everywhere in the world.

Clubs barely sell any official shirts, it’s actually very surprising how low it is:
