Actually proper pasties can have anthing in them, made by the wifes for their men to take down the mines. Bacon and eggs for brekkie say, meat and veg fo dinner and perhaps a fruit one for tea. Its the shape that matters so they can hold them by the crust and eat the middle out without being poisoned.
Are you try to tell a Cornishman that you know better than him, when it comes to pasties?

I’m talking about the standard pasty that you find in Cornish bakeries nowadays.

Yes, you can find all sorts of fillings today, but the traditional pasty is as I described.
