Maguire is a far better player than his performances are at united,
I don't see it that way. He's okay(ish) if he has some good players around him, like when he's in the England team. But apart from the odd decent game for the rags I've never seen him play as well as his price tag and the media hyperbole suggest. If he had stayed at Leicester I don't think he'd be getting the abuse he does. He'd be looked upon as yet another so-so player who does his job and that's about it.
But signing for the rags was always going to expose him to a wider audience of armchair viewers, and with social media allowing everyone to view their opinions to a world-wide audience, his every mistake was always going to be over analysed. And he has become the scapegoat for everything wrong with the back four of that team.

But I wouldn't have thought he'd have any regrets because he's made his name and he's made his money. He could retire tomorrow and never have to worry about paying his bills again: not many of us can make that claim.

Had a Rag talking on a Teams Meeting in work yesterday.
For some strange reason his opening line was “ I’ve worked here going back to when City were a pub team”
So I instantly put a message on chat “ Yes but who is the pub team now ?”
And that was before the Seville result.

It it bullying mate, it's become fashionable to exacerbate every little mistake he does, coupled with wanker podcasters who sit in their little bedroom and think it is funny to call him any personal name under the sun.

Big difference between criticism and going out of their way to make life so unbearable, you cannot perform.

I don't think it's generational, there have always been bullies.

I'll be 50 next year and still have horrible memories of how I put up with terrible shit in the office and from superiors, just because I thought you had to put up with it to get on in life.

It shaped my whole mental state and I know the signs all too well when everyone wants to be in on the joke, because they don't or can't think for themselves.

If someone treated my kids like I was, I would put them in the fucking ground.
All about different experiences and outlooks I suppose. I'm very much proud of my "school of hard knocks" upbringing and work environments, always took it as a life test, some seem intent on the "school of cotton wool" way. The happy medium I guess Is the holy grail, although soon staff appraisals and even training will be viewed as "bullying". The no-one tells me what to do culture. I'm special and amazing mantra.
Anyway you being 50 Is a bigger surprise.
They say it's the new 30 though.

I am disappointed to read in this thread that Blues are still saying Ten Bob has improved them, yes @KentBlue I'm looking at you especially.
2-0 down in a knockout competition and the managers answer is to bring on a centre forward that relegated Burnley sent out on loan ! That's improvement !
I presume most of you saying this shit work for the government or the Bank of England.
