It it bullying mate, it's become fashionable to exacerbate every little mistake he does, coupled with wanker podcasters who sit in their little bedroom and think it is funny to call him any personal name under the sun.

Big difference between criticism and going out of their way to make life so unbearable, you cannot perform.

I don't think it's generational, there have always been bullies.

I'll be 50 next year and still have horrible memories of how I put up with terrible shit in the office and from superiors, just because I thought you had to put up with it to get on in life.

It shaped my whole mental state and I know the signs all too well when everyone wants to be in on the joke, because they don't or can't think for themselves.

If someone treated my kids like I was, I would put them in the fucking ground.
Spot-on, @tolmie's hairdoo, spot-fucking-on.

Because we are 'ickle Cideh' and the rags are 'the biggest club in the world' TM and have to be respected, (rolled over for) whereas City are only a very small club with hardly any fans and deserve nothing but contempt!
…….nothing but contempt and the best coach in the world and a shit load of trophies.

All about different experiences and outlooks I suppose. I'm very much proud of my "school of hard knocks" upbringing and work environments, always took it as a life test, some seem intent on the "school of cotton wool" way. The happy medium I guess Is the holy grail, although soon staff appraisals and even training will be viewed as "bullying". The no-one tells me what to do culture. I'm special and amazing mantra.
Anyway you being 50 Is a bigger surprise.
They say it's the new 30 though.

I'm 48 for now!

There's nothing wrong with hard knocks, but I think having things such as a phone thrown at you across the room and hit you in the head, while others laugh their bollocks off and other such newspaper office 'high-jinx', to an 18-year-old kid sort of, you know, looking back...fucking bullying.

According to a Utd fan in work, it was a blessing in disguise that they lost last night as they can now concentrate on the FA Cup.
What the actual fuck ??
He said it with a straight face too

I find the scapegoating/narrative of Maguire very disturbing.

It's become a national thing, with the mainstream and social media taking it in turns to pick up the baton.

It's bullying, pure and simple.

He's made a few mistakes, but he's conveniently carrying the can for a club and a supporter base looking for anything to excuse away how shit they are.

Sancho and Anthony cost a combined £160m and have been nothing short of lamentable.

The Glazers are accused of all sorts, yet they consistently ensure United are one of the top spenders and sanctioned a record £300m splurge last summer.

Maguire is the main target on the back pages today when anyone with a brain knows De Gea was at fault for two goals.

People even cite his looks. A bunch of fucking shitbags looking for an easy pile-on, when they wouldn't fucking dare to do it to his face.

One day a player is going to be taken to the brink and then all these pricks will all clutch their pearls and ask what we can do to avoid a tragedy in the future?

Maguire is having a bad time of it, but most people will at some stage, when nothing seems to go right.

He's a dad, a husband, a son.

United and their sycophants all need to look closer to home, starting with their entitlement.
I agree with much of this, especially the call for empathy for players as fellow human beings (there are lines I think should not be be crossed).

That said, I reserve the right to make jokes about his, United’s, and other teams’ shambolic exploits on here.

You have to find joy somewhere in an increasingly miserable world and that sort of fan commentary is part of football; no player should enter the sport with the expectation that it won’t or shouldn’t happen.

Fair enough, but being a flat cap wearing grumpy c@nt, I really think the words hate and bullying have been misappropriated and misapplied - although the phone ......
