Totally agree but it shows you how thick or distanced from reality footballers are . The old saying read the room is relevant here . Onana banana has been talked about and he then puts a banana loving animal in the domain.
Gorillas and most apes (bar us) don't eat bananas, you wouldn't even find banana trees in their habitats

Always made me piss that racists and the NF types who threw them at players in the 80s didn't know basic zoology and geography, the thick cunts ;-)

Why not? Was Bernardo's fine and a ban a warning to others? He has not learnt from what has gone before. Time to make an example for all the other PL players.

Either that or just pretend it never happened.
I've said he should be banned the same. Bernardo didn't mean it and Mendy agreed but neither did Garnarcho and Onana agreed. If you mean Bernardo was thrown to the wolves I understand your point.

Just when you thought he couldn't be any more of a bell-end, I give you the oracle that is Jamie O'Hara ...

"Manchester United and Liverpool are going to be the biggest clubs in the UK forever because of their history – it’s as simple as that.

I don’t care how many trophies you win – you could win 10 Champions Leagues and you are never going to be as big as Manchester United. There’s only one team in Manchester, and that’s Man United.

History is what matters. Never in a million years are Manchester City going to be as big as Manchester United. We could be playing in 40, 50, 100 more years, we could even be playing on another planet, and United will be bigger than City. City can’t even fill their own ground! Football goes round in cycles – Manchester City are having their time now because they’ve got Pep Guardiola in charge – but I believe Man United will come back, because they’re Man United.

You can’t compare Manchester City to the likes of Real Madrid. Real Madrid and Barcelona are always going to be Real Madrid and Barcelona, and Liverpool and Manchester United are always going to be Liverpool and Manchester United – no matter what decade. They’re still the biggest clubs in the world. Manchester City are owned by a state and they’ve got Pep Guardiola as their manager, but let me tell you, that will eventually change.”

So many words to say so very little.

I don't know why people listen to Talksport. You know it's shit, you know they talk shit and you know they don't believe the shit they say.

The correct outcome should be nothing, along with a complete apology from the F.A, stating that now that a rag has done it they now understand that Bernie did fuck all wrong and here's his 50k back.

We’re appearing as bad as the scousers and media on this thread, demanding a ban for something most of us deem to be ‘misinformed’ and ‘without malice’.

We were calling for everyone to leave Bernardo alone, especially as Mendy wasn’t offended, and now the boots on the other foot when Onana isn’t offended we’re behaving the other way. Bizarre.
The FA made a rod for their own back, with their treatment of Bernardo.

Now, to avoid accusations of double standards, they must deal with Garnacho in the same manner.

Kick It Out's statement on Bernardo: "We are extremely disappointed to see the tweet posted by Bernardo Silva, which has since been deleted.
Racist stereotypes are never acceptable as 'banter', and we're shocked that someone who is a role model to millions has failed to understand the discriminatory nature of his post.

"The FA have been notified and we believe that retrospective action should be taken, including mandatory education - which is vital to challenge offensive behaviour such as this."

Kick it Out's CEO Tony Bennett on Sky in relation to Garnacho;

"In all these situations I'm always conscious that what I want to do is avoid outrage because I think outrage is often blocking the opportunity for dialogue and learning in these situations. And I think it is a perfect opportunity to create a dialogue and learning around this incident"

Hmmmmm

That’s football fans for you.

I completely disagreed with Bernardo receiving a ban and fine. All that should have happened is - well firstly the media needed to shut the fuck up - he should have been warned that our culture in Britain around race and what can/can’t be said and done might be a bit different to yours in Portugal so just think before doing anything in the future.

That’s all that needs to happen here. Just because Bernardo was given wrong punishment doesn’t mean everyone else should afterwards.
