Well my local team growing up were Cork Hibernians, now years defunct. I followed them with a passion but also fell for City at the same time. Pretty much everyone in Ireland has, or at least had a League of Ireland club and a favoured English club - like Liverpool for example. I should know; I grew up with lots of 'em...;)

Over here in the US, the Premier League is now absolutely huge. Lots of folks here are pretty passionate about their "adopted" clubs too. Doesn't mean any less to them. And they can always follow their local clubs too at whatever sport they play.

It's always great to have local supporters as they are the lifeblood of any club, but don't think that folks from other places don't have any affinity for their chosen clubs. It's just not true.
Really though? It means as much to someone in Arkansas who "adopted" City as someone who has invested an absolute fortune watching City live, spent a ridiculous amount of time travelling to watch them live, has stood watching utter shite in the rain at Maine Road? Fair enough if you think so but not for me.

You had a reply from Kick it Out yet ? I haven't and I've just sent them a reminder.

"I note that, despite the acknowledgement of my email below, I have not had the courtesy of a reply.

In the meantime, your conciliatory approach in relation to the gorilla emojis contained in Garnacho’s Tweet has, no doubt, influenced the Premier League’s decision not to punish him. This, of course, contrasts with the match-ban and substantial fine handed out to Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva for likening a team mate to a much-loved mascot from a Portuguese sweet following your intervention as described below.

Before I go into print with your lack of response to my email, which, in some ways tells its own story, would you like to take this opportunity to confirm that your Chairman, Sanjay Bhandari, reportedly a Manchester United fan, played no part in Kick it Out’s contrasting response to the two incidents"

Yeah, that’s a lot of nonsense you’re replying to mate.
I’ve seen it said before but like you, I’m not having it one bit.

Not to mention the fact that the majority of adopted fans only support the best clubs. We would have supported city regardless. Obviously that doesn't apply to all I know plenty of adopted fans who joined at various eras to go against the grain, piss off united supporting mates or just cuz they liked a player or the kit

I have sent them several reminders to my e-mail on this subject. They just ignore it, hoping its gone away. I am going to keep messaging them though. A change of direction on the next one, to get some dialogue going, and then revert to this subject. They are carrying out the full instructions from the rags PR team... no bad press for them.

I have sent to emails to both kick it out and the fa. The fa haven't responded. Kick it out responded first time saying the Garnacho was being investigated by the fa and police. I havent heard from kick it out since I wrote asking for their views on Garnacho getting away with racism.

Yeah I put it badly. Sorry. I meant that it means more than one would think but obviously not as much to a match-going supporter for donkey's years. I have stood in the rain to watch City too, traveling over from Ireland and now the the US, but of course nothing like the folks who go to every home and away. I would love to be able to do that but it's not possible. Guess I'm a tourist...;)
As I said, the people who have gone year in year out like yourself are the lifeblood of the club - of any club. I just wanted to make the point that for people from other places, you can be pretty damn passionate about City or whatever club you end up following and not necessarily be a local. Like I say, I put it badly.

And I accept that I have followed City since the late 60's (gloryhunter) so I obviously have a lot more affinity for them than some guy from Arkansas who just discovered them a few years ago.
