The brief highlights that I sneered at last night reinforced the view that Slabhead is not a Premier league player. Not even close. He'd do fine in the bottom half of the Championship: Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield etc, but no way would he get into a side looking for CL football. That he is also a seemingly automatic choice for Waistcoat is as bizarre and as detrimental to the national side as it could possibly be.
He lumbers around like Baloo the bear, aimlessly giving the ball away but trying his damnest to make it look like he is at least trying. Twice last night in the second half he lost his man and was about three yards off-pace when he realised it. His decision making was poor, extremely poor for a so-called 'professional' footballer, and he appears to have all the agility of Jake the Peg when it comes to trapping the ball.

The rags have some extremely below-average players in their squad, more so than most clubs in the Prem I'd bet, but Slabhead stands alone, head and shoulders over the rest of the mediocre-mercenaries they have stealing a living at the swamp.

While i agree with you, the press is frankly nauseating around them. This Manager/player of the month award being just the latest example. However, Im now convinced this doesn't work in their favour. They’re in a tail spin that perpetually seems to be recovered, only for it to come back worse and they cant do anything to change that cycle.

They cant have honest conversations or make the right tough decisions due to this comstant “blowing of smoke up their arse” from the press, pundits and fans alike!! It might annoy us blues but im now convinced its fatal for them. So long may it continue ;)

Merry Christmas fellow blues
Yes, I tend to agree. Everyone connected with that club laps up the false adulation from the media by the bucket load. The problem for them is this creates unlimited amounts of heightened self delusion. After a result like yesterday the "come down" is catastrophic for so many of them. To us blues it's absolutely delightful.

That’s a queer take!

The one that made me laugh was the commentator saying " he put Maguire under pressure with that pass" but he didnt have anyone within 10 yards of him but still managed to miscontrol & lose the ball ha

Sure i saw a piece by Maguire last week about him 'turning a corner' and 'keeping his confidence' etc etc.
He is a championship player at best.

Didn’t watch much footy since the Villa game. Managed to catch the last 20 mins of the rags turgid display at the stadium of shite!

Get a win today city so I can enjoy the rags misery all week.
