Love this, especially the headline
The leaky Old Trafford roof was almost a too perfect sign of neglect by owners who love the money but don’t seem to like the club

Typical subjective Liew opinion piece for clicks. No mention of the role of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager and his influence in all aspects of the running of ManU during a near 27 years tenure, starting well before the Glazers. His fall out with the majority owners at the time over Rock of Gibralter horse stud interest led to the sale to the Glazers.
In 2003 Ferguson began legal proceedings against Irish horse racing tycoon John Magnier and lost the case. At the time Magnier with his partner JP McManus, posed Ferguson 99 probing questions about United's affairs, finances and transfer dealings. They were never answered or finally pursued so remain unresolved. (no accident they were trumped by less specific PL 115 City charges, almost certainly part of an agenda)
It is reasonable to assume Fergusons influence within the club extended beyond these specifically, identified so not questioned by the Glazers because of his success in continuing to generate cash for them.
Did Ronaldo not say on his return in 2021 that the training facilities at Carrington remained the same as when he left in 2007? The Glazers had backed Ferguson and his successors who were all supported and rewarded handsomely. For all of his success, the blame for the decline of ManU starts with the hubris of Sir Alex Ferguson. The Glazers can only be accused of short term ROI and greed but they did make a financial killing whilst loading United with huge debt.
None of this would have happened if not for Ferguson with the support of Gill. They were the instigators of the decline. No moral outrage then back in the day, pre Glazers, from the Guardian who are Liews paymasters now.
Manchester United's directors will not - and say they are not obliged to - provide answers to Cubic Expression's queries about club affairs.
