My guess is long term it might be a better deal for Adidas than the rags - unless they are in division 2 by then.

They make 4m every time they play at home. They were exceptionally lucky with home draws in cup comps last season which brought in around 140m, and a further 152m from the PL for finishing 3rd. 75m from Adidas, 47m Team Viewer, 20m from Europa League. Add on the TV rights, and smaller sponsorship deals and you are into half a billion quid a year.
