Exactly. It wasn’t a totally tongue in cheek post. L**ds would be another potential. Huge fanbase as a single club city.
Begs the question, why haven't they moved on... My guess is that there a spoof bidder.
We all suspected the Glazers weren't serious so why did the Qutaris think any different.

The Glazers actually own a sizeable chunk of Trafford Park/Salford Quays. Over 40 acres of land. They own the freight terminal near the stadium as well. If someone with unlimited wealth, got hold of all of that, they could actually make something spectacular. This is something not often mentioned in the sale, but the Qatari's will be all over it.

I seriously doubt they'd own the Manchester transport freight land rights. Are you sure about this?

Maybe they have? Maybe they want a “legacy” club?

I hope they stay out of football and allow us to be as successful as possible for as long as possible. They may be really competent. We don’t want that in our league!

It was listed in the sale when they were looking at 6 billion. Why do they suddenly want 10 billion? I don’t believe the sale is off, think it’s Nick Harris trying to get supporters of another club riled up and clicking on his articles instead of the unsubstantiated shite he writes about City.

Well it doesn't make much sense, does it? You'd think that the asset has already reached it's pinnacle in value. If the starting point was 3.5bn.

But throughout this process, people have become fixated on the stadium and the training facilities in Carrington, when the full package includes a huge area of land that they could potentially develop, especially on the Trafford side of the waterfront, at Salford Quays. The Metrolink already goes through there so the transport links are in. There is also a huge demand for living accommodation in and around media city, where house prices have gone crazy in the last decade.

There's definitely more to it than just a football club.

All that land with a huge turd in the middle of it.

Surely whoever comes in eventually will need to rebuild the glazerdome or at least renovate it.
I'd say whoever is buying is not remotely arsed about having these 400 acres, the only reason anyone wants to buy utd is to make money. The glazers, having been there how many wonderful years, haven't even built on any of this land, has that been because they aren't bothered or that this land is a load of shite.

Glazers aren't budging anyway, dig in and fight for what is rightfully yours uncle Malc.
