I've decided to take a Mini break from my Mod duties in order to calm down. A weekend away on the isle of Capri should do the trick. Or maybe Granada?
If you're a Mod, then I would have thought a Lambretta SX200 would have been more suitable transport.

Have any of the comedians they really need to get rid of, actually left? Casemiro, Maguire, Rashford, Antony, Eriksen, Onana, Wan Bissaka; did any of them make any meaningful contribution last season?
Nope, none of them left. And add Lindelof to that list.

As far as I saw it, nothing changed under this 'new regime'. They still haven't gotten rid of their garbage and they are still overpaying for mediocre talents.

It serves them right for paying such ridiculous salaries to shite.

"Glazer family control 69.1% of voting rights and Trawlers Limited (an entity owned and controlled by Scruffy Jim ) holds 27.7% of voting rights. Of the total shares outstanding, including both Class A and Class B shares, the Glazer family own 49.9% of total outstanding shares and Trawlers Limited owns 28.0% of outstanding shares as of 31 March 2024"
The rest of the shares are presumably owned by smaller shareholders
I do wonder why people refer to INEOS when talking about the rags, as the company haven't got an interest in them
Talk of a new stadium and the funding required to build it, Scruffy pledged circa £230m for infrastructure improvements a long way short of the money required for the stadium
Options to fund:
Will Scuffy be prepared to spend more of his £12B nest egg to fund it? To do so would, effectively put money in pockets of the other shareholders.
Will the Glazers fund it? Well for the same reason no, historically they have only have taken out, God bless them.
They could of course fund it in the same proportions as their shareholding
Other options are government funding, local of national, I somewhat doubt that a substantial amount will come from national or local authority as both are skint, and would it be popular when vital areas need funding?
Would a large corporation be prepared to fund with a massive sponsorship deal, entirely possible.
More borrowings? Like Spurs' long term debt funding plan, although with their massive debt it would hamstrung spending on players in the long term.
I think the most likely scenario is a major overseas developer will fund the project in return for favourable tax terms from the Government and Trafford Council allowing them to buy up and develop major chunks of nearby land cheaply. It is potentially a very lucrative project which would have been very attractive to someone like Sheikh Mansour (if he wasn't already busy) and may well attract other wealthy individuals from the Middle East. What has happened in Ancoats and now Holt Town shows what is possible. I can't see much public money going in though. Much as I despise United I think such a deal could be great for Greater Manchester and the North West.
