This is probably the best thing they have done since buying a stake in the club

Not gone down well. But it’s a sign they might not be as clueless as they seem.

Further reading shows that Ferguson is still on the board of directors. So it’s not all bad news, he’s still there looming over and blocking the future , whilst dragging them back from escaping the past. Not gone down well. But it’s a sign they might not be as clueless as they seem.
Sadly I know a few of them that have been wanting him moved on for years. I think many deep down knew it had to happen.Imagine if it was the Glazers who got rid of Ferguson? There'd be absolute uproar. Brexit Jim still seems to be getting a free pass for now.
It’s certainly long overdue. I wasn’t questioning the decision itself, just pointing out that the reaction would’ve been different if the Glazers had made the call rather than Ineos. It’s a smart move. Ferguson has been a problem since he retired.

You can bet if they weren't as skint as they are that decision wouldn't have been made , Charlton hung around far more than Ferguson did , the "past" is the whole thing about that club, and has been for decades. They're totally skint, in the same article it says they have also cancelled the Christmas party. Like you say, scruffy is getting some slack cut at the moment, it gets better and better as each month passes. It’s certainly long overdue. I like this.Perhaps they've relieved him of his ambassadorial duties so that he can make a return as manager
