I did a bit of a breakdown of that particular season (19/20) as the rate they were being awarded penalties was unusual, even for them, and many of us felt that they were artificially inflating their league position and stature behind a low threshold for being awarded a penalty. Turns out we were probably on to something in that regard.

I also saw that from a pool of all the referees available (excluding allegiances as I don't think we knew then at the time) , five particular referees were handed a significant number of United's games, and these five referees had an even higher leaning towards giving united a penalty, at a rate of one every two games officiated.

Something odd clearly went on in that season, but has changed since, and whilst not totally the cause of their recent downfall, a ratio of penalties awarded more win line with other teams has possibly contributed to their position and you could speculate that maybe someone with some sway in such matters has given up on them too.

If they had appointed Southgate and got these results he would have been absolutely slaughtered by the rag fans. How Amorim gets away with this shit I’ll never know.

Honestly, they've been so shit for so long with so many different managers that they can no longer reasonably blame the manager. Like the person who gets divorced 6 times and then finally realises it wasn't the partners that were the problem.

He aint shit though he is trying to sort shit out at a club in mess .............i dont how big the squad is but how many of that lot would you keep if you wanted to chsllenge for the top 4 never mind win the title ?????? 3/4 at a fooking push ............give it two years he will be gone fook off elsewhere and do well.
Honestly can you name me one man in world football invluding Pep who could turn it around ??????
Sadly well not really there fanbase will turn on him due to City or Liverpool and them dropping further and further fown the line :)
Its gonna take at least 5 years to sort it out and he aint getting that amount of time .........i know managers have arrived at same sized clubs and turned it around sharpish but they probably had a spine to work with ..........they havent.
