What we are seeing being played out is INEOS ripping off the huge sticking plaster and showing everyone the gaping wound. This allows them to make indiscriminate cuts. They have managed to do this without throwing the Glazers under the bus, by just pointing at the wound and letting everyone make their own minds up.

The fact that scruffy Jim is allowing this noise to build, without attempting any sort of charm offensive is quite telling, because this is a guy with a big ego. In some cases, I think that INEOS are loading the bullets into the gun, because the bad news stories are almost daily. And it deflects away from the poor performances on the pitch.

On the pitch, the biggest issue that they have is that Amorim needs a certain style of player to play in his system, and these lot can't do it. You saw on Wednesday, when they went down to 10 men, they abandoned Amorim's 3 at the back and were immediately more solid. So they need to move lots of players on. The players that they want to move on, are earning way more than most clubs can afford, especially clubs outside of the PL.

You look at how much more time that these players have on their contracts, and that is how long they are in the shit for.
and don’t they still owe over £400m in unpaid transfer fees for these shit players they can’t get rid of?

Their finances are in absolute bits so how can they even consider knocking down and rebuilding the swamp? They could be potentially be adding another £2-3 billion to their already £1 billion in the red. Building projects never run to the original costing which could result in them being on the hook for for more interest rate payments they haven’t planned for. What financial institutions would lend them the money? Musk and Bezos have already told them no. I wouldn’t be surprised if it never happens and it was a load of fan fair and noise to make it look like Ineos were going to make big changes.

I think Ineos have realised that they’ve invested in a shit show and are trying to polish the proverbial….

Got quiet emotional reading this section :-) how the mighty have fallen (not far enough) :-)

"Football-related reasons also account for ballooning costs. The club’s recruitment policy has been particularly dire, both on and off the pitch. United has spent more money on redundancy payouts for failed managerial and executive appointments in the past decade than any other club in Europe, including almost £30mn in the last three seasons.
As for players, the picture is even worse. More than half the club’s most expensive signings in the past decade have been failures, going on to spend less than a third of the available time on the pitch".

All driven by their cry arsing fans…..

I've said this before.
It could be that the dirty rags sneak into the C/L via this back door route.
It is not beyond the realms of possibility that even though the sh1tstains finish around 14th that they could qualify for the competition, even though they have been beyond poor this season.
Entirely wrong in my view, this scenario removes the sense of the C/L being a competition for elite clubs.
A prestigious trophy fought for by the very best teams, you're having a laugh!

They’ll be out next round

There's a piece by Luckhurst in the MUEN about their recruitment catastrophe. Most people think it was a post-GPC recruitment failure.

The article outlined the number of shite signings made by the GPC and his complete subservience to the Glazers after the takeover.

Scouted by his brother & agreed with his sons agency…

They could find a way into the CL next season via the back door but its hardly going to make much difference if at all any, whats killed them is the continued failure of qualifying for the later stages of the CL year in year out, winning the Europa is peanuts in terms of income so while they think there on the path to glory there realy on the road to knowhere, as for the stadium it wont happen, the best they can hope for is tarting up what they have and selling the naming rights off to a sponsor, at least that would cover the cost of the repair work, they have been sucked into a spiral of debt and the outcome is comparable to you and me paying a credit card bill with another credit card, every single one of there problems is self-inflicted upon the club by those that run the show and i dont mean the Glazer's, the panic set in around the time we beat them in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley and to this day the plan has never changed, the plan has been to catch up with City and put them back down on the floor at all costs, it was futile and its broke them paying manager after manager off, spending 70 million on a player only to ship out for 30 million, they could never accept going into transition for 2/3 seasons they wanted to be back on the perch and its finnished them, as the old saying 'shit or bust' they played ther hand and fucked it

That's interesting as Luckhurst is just a shill for the Rags PR wing, sounds like they are deliberately encouraging tarnishing the pisscan's reputation and legacy

I had a laugh going to the game yesterday. I was listening to the Screeching Peearse and when there was a lull in the game the narrative begins with what coverage the BBC have lined up. It went through all the games and finished with 'and at 4:30 we have Sir Matt Busby's Manchester United." I know the Rags live in the past with their treasured memories of Our Matt but the Media City arm of MUTV seem to occupy the same historical spot.

The biggest issue is that they were in denial about City’s rise for years. Even now they don’t accept we have overtaken them on and off the pitch. They will continue to suffer until they have a reality check.

Simply put, they can't.

They'll tart up the old toilet and leave it at that

Almost like the reverse of Swales trying to catch up with United?

I’ve said this before , they will use it as dodge around PSR , pretty much like the scousers did , we spent shit loads on something that will never happen

I think the whole thing is planned by scruffy Jim. He's going to make it so the Glazers see no other way than to sell and they'll sell to someone in the Middle East. I bet he's got a buyer already lined up.

They will never have that reality check. As a club and as a fan base they do not li've in the reality that everybody else does. In their closed minds they ARE the top dogs, they ARE the very best the world has ever seen, it's us that should be languishing at the foot of the table, alongside the dippers, tarquins, chavs and anybody else threatening their perch. There is none so blind as those who will not see.
The club (and the teams that club produced) before and since the Pisscan are the real rags: not the club that benefitted from the formation of the Premier League and received an avalanche of cash from Sly Sports: and not the club whose success was built entirely on 'favourable' refereeing decisions, or an unprecedented amount of fortunate home draws against lower league clubs in pretty much every cup game they've played, and an ever-fawning media with a bunch of tabloid hacks always on hand to hide any unpalatable truths that might arise.

They have been protected for so long now the club knows no other way to function. Any time their backs are against the wall someone or something comes along to help them out. A person, a group of persons, a set of circumstances, there will always be something to save the rags - sometimes behind the scenes so that we, the great public, know nothing about it, but often in full view of the paying public (last year's FA Cup semi-final -being one amongst many many others- springs to mind).

Without the extraordinarily favourable refereeing decisions they've had over the years they would have been relegated a long time ago. They would not have achieved the success they did under the hammer and sickle of the Gill/Pisscan partnership. That is a fact. It is also the reality check they will never ever accept.
