Had a wander into town earlier and turned into Shambles/Exchange Square.

Both pubs looked to have been taken over by the French, loads of riot police, barriers not allowing anybody else to get in, and a tiny circle of about 20 or so united fans.

Asked a couple of coppers what was going on and when they answered I gave them my best dumbfounded look and said "Football on Thursdays? Who knew that was a thing?"

Then leant over the barriers, asked a couple of the French lads if they spoke English and then wished them well and passed on my hope for them to smash the red scum tonight.

Then wandered off again with a smile on my face.

They keep the jacket for a year and do what they like with it. They must however, return it to the clubhouse 1 year after winning it.
