Some tricky games left and could easily finish the season with fewer points than Stuart Pearce's 2006/07 City.

Given the state they are in, is getting in the Champions League actually a good thing for them right now? (If they do win the second rate cup)

They need to rebuild, bottom up and accept their current position. Add in a Champions League run and it could be amusing to see how they deal with it, no player is going to want to go there just because they have a season in the CL - the league table shows their true position and they have become a laughing stock in world football.
Wrong. They need to carry on as they are because it keeps me amused no end.

It won't be a good thing on a competing front because they are nowhere near CL level. The cash they get would accelerate what could have been a time consuming rebuild. No CL footy means no CL cash. No cash probably means more cuts, attract lesser players and take a longer time to try to get to where they need to be. They will get battered in the CL but I would rather see them struggling financially

Either way it’s a win / win for us watching on….

Got told today how much they still owe in outstanding transfers and it's on players they now want to get rid of, so any money off those sales has to go back to the club they bought them off

They're absolutely fucked. Even the CL money they might get isn't going to do a thing.

The size of the outstanding transfer fee debt iceberg is huge. Don’t know how it’s reported for FFP/PSR.
Figs mainly 2024
Chavs. £491m, Scum £414m, Spuds £307m, Arse £268m, Gods own £268m, Spammers £191m, Leeds and Wolves £190m, Dippers £123m tapering down to Brentford at £26m.

Think the overall total is close to £2b

What a shame.

That prick played for England.
Just think about that.
I wonder why
Veering away from "TWGC"™ briefly (for which, apologies). But going on what you're insinuating (outright saying?), there's a hell of a lot of pretty ordinary players who've won caps on the basis of who they played for. A particular bugbear of mine is Dennis Wise. Yes; he was, sort of, effective. But he was no Vialli, Zola or Gullit, was he? Back to the rags; Nicky Butt and Phil Chuckle won England caps, didn't they?

Did Januzai ever get an England cap? I know Martin Tyler was quite keen!

No!!! He'd made the required appearances for the rags (3) and there was a press campaign to get him to qualify for England. Whether he didn't like the idea or whether Southgate realised he was no good(!) he elected to play for Belgium (anyone would look better with KdB and Vinnie in the same team!). So he played against England twice in Belgium's second eleven in the world cup of 2018.
