That's because it was a state-sponsored attack by the Russian army/ KGB

They're all in the ground in Ukraine now.
I was in Turkey some 15 to 20 years ago talking with a group of Russian holiday makers in the same hotel. Seems they brought their own police with them so everything was OK except a few days later the hotely ran out of vodka so they broke every glass behind the bars. Plastic cups and apologies for us the next day.

EBITDA is a useless metric for a football club as the biggest cost is the A - amortisation of players value.

If they only have 160m to pay interest and player amortisation that doesn't go very far. As an example a 50m player on a 5 year contract costs 10m a year in A. Plus wages on top.

I've not looked at the rags accounts for a wile and it's always difficult to project forward. But just on the above alone I'd say they are screwed.
Pretax profit/loss is the best measure, so here you go:

2020 $26m loss
2021 $32m loss
2022 $198m loss (!!!)
2023 $39m loss
2024 $164m loss

Regardless of PSR, a business cannot carry on year after year, making losses. It has to blow up at some point. This doesn't look at all good for them

Not the game I’m thinking of.
From last week’s Guardian about team’s winning without having a shot on goal:

It’s worth reiterating that Sporting Kansas City didn’t have a single shot at goal, never mind on target, which is extraordinary. One-nil wins in which the victors had no efforts on target are more common; thanks to all of you who sent in the below examples.

  • Premier League 2003-04 Manchester City 0-1 Middlesbrough (Sun Jihai og)
  • Premier League 2005-06 West Brom 0-1 Sunderland (Steve Watson og)
  • Serie A 2021-22 Napoli 0-1 Spezia (Juan Jesus og)
  • Brasileiro Serie A 2023 Cruzeiro 1-0 São Paulo (Rafinha og)
  • Euro 2024 playoff Wales 0-0 Poland (4-5 pens)
  • WSL 2024-25 Tottenham 1-0 Leicester (Janina Leitzig og)

Just looking at the titles of all the threads in there today..... it makes me smile, it does.

Sergio will fucking haunt them forever…

“In terms of matches that made me furious, the 4-4 is the one. The domino effect.

The only other time I've felt that angry during and after a football match is when I hated Barcelona, which I still do, and it was actually the Drogba it's a disgrace game.

Maybe I can add QPRs pathetic capitulation. But I'm not thinking any more about that than necessary or I'll ruin my day.”

I'd also say the 'I' is fairly important when looking at their accounts

This made me chuckle this morning… ;)

No finance to buy players for a squad which is desperate for it. A dilapidated stadium requiring a rebuild, a new stadium they can't afford, Ratcliffe has just lost £6.5bn in value, their only hope is to sell their half decent players, their current squad is old, talentless, fucked and useless, their manager clueless and clearly the wrong choice, their manager position is a poisoned chalice, i'm sure they'll have broken some of their sponsorship agreements for failing to qualify for European football. If either Leeds, Burnley or Sheff Utd/ Sunderland have a better season, they're going down.

UNITED.

ARE.

FUCKED!
Let's not kid ourselves, Gill, Parry, Joel and catweazle will convene a meeting with Masters to sort something out.
