It's less of a problem that the Champions League because it's only every four years (for now), but there could be a season where we get 100 million for this tournament and another 100 million for the CL, meaning that before a ball's been kicked, or a shirt sold, we've got a 200 million advantage over teams like Brighton. More money for the top of the pyramid with none of it being shared more widely. In theory, it's at least spreading some of the money around the world, but these huge sums are going to be even more impactful in smaller leagues, further entrenching the best teams at the top.
