As funny as that sounds, our U21s lost to Lincoln City last season 5-0 and recently lost 3-0 to Bolton Wanderers. One of the Bolton goals was scored by John McAtee, big brother of James.

It's a useful competition for the U21 squads but doesn't mean much overall. It's not like Lincoln City are on the same level as, say, Grimsby Town.
I try to avoid working trains that way when they play each other.

To say they don't like each other is an understatement.

Football has always been cyclic. The Ferguson era is long gone, just like the Revie era at Leeds, Clough at Forest, Mercer and Allison, Shankly and Paisley. Their fans rant on and on about their history but have no awareness of their own history apart from the days of Busby and Ferguson. They can’t move forward till they accept this reality.
Absolutely, the last 15 years have been amazing watching City just at the same time as they are crumbling, but if as The Doors sang, this is the end, then it's been a hell of a ride to see things I thought we'd never see

How many of them will face hudud for stealing a living if this goes ahead?

You can’t compare people in different positions. Messi was an attacking midfielder, Henri a winger turned inside forward. Haaland is the best centre forward in the world. Challenging legends like Shearer and Gerd Muller. Is he a better player than Cruyff…..no chance. But Cruyff wasn’t any good as a centre forward.
Isn’t that what I said in my first paragraph?

It should’ve been 10 (well 5 or 6 at least) …. and against an Imps reserve team with 11 changes from their win at Peterborough on Saturday. A fair few of them were U21 yo as well.

Chido Obi was anonymous throughout and subbed off after an hour or so.
To be fair, he was excellent in Return of the Jedi.

Neither Ancellotti or Pep could manage at utd. They're both used to working with technically good players with football nous. They would both assume with all the money they've spent since Ferguson went, the squad would contain that sort of quality.
Absolutely, but they’d have the gravitas to be able to attract the level of talent United used to be able to buy under Ferguson.

Seems to me, United have slipped down the “Hell yes I want to play for them!” list since he left, as it’s clear the club is not in the financial shape it once was and the revolving door management is kryptonite to a players career. They want a manager who is willing to come and get them and wants them. If that’s chopping and changing all the time, you can quickly find yourself yesterday’s Flavor of the Day!

I see scruffy is planning some mid season friendlies in Saudi to bring in some revenue.
The rags over on the caf apart from a few using desperate mental gymnastics to justify it all saying it’s not the same as being owned by the Middle East.
The hypocrisy is off the scale, so it’s ok to take Saudi money in friendlies but not take money from ownership.
One or two can see it but in the whole they’re all for it.
Desperate times indeed for the rags.

Ferguson's last title winning team was distinctly average. Smalling, Jones, Evans, Fletcher, Cleverley, Young, Rafael, Nani, Valencia, Hernandez, Wellbeck, Kagawa...

I think Van Gaal got rid of all of them.

I would argue that they have bought and ruined much better players in the last 12 years

Pretty sure that I read somewhere that if you take the Busby and Ferguson eras out of their past, their history isn't all that special. Certainly not what their fans would have you believe. Can't be bothered googling it.

And yes I'm well aware that they'll say the same about us before Pep.

I believe they've had 3 managers who won the league in their history - we've had 3 since 2008
