It's hard to imagine the players themselves believe they can move the rags to challenge for a top position.

I very much doubt they're that bothered - doubling, possibly trebling, your wages (and not having to live in Wolverhampton) for a few years on a bumper contract is enough for some players, not necessarily medals.
