Just saw the sending off, wtf was the ref thinking there? Absolutely nothing in it, a disagreement ffs

The sending off had nothing to do with the altercation between the two Everton players. It was the referee's decision to exercise one of his three options when officiating at the swamp.

PiGMOL memo to the designated ref:

Option (1) award the rags a penalty

Option (2) Send an opposing player off

Option (3) Award a penalty after the final whistle
